Adopt-a-Stream
Foundation provides educational programs and
publications on stream protection, restoration
and monitoring, undertakes restoration projects
(mostly in Snohomish County but also with Maxwelton
Salmon Adventure).
Island
County Beach Watchers - Part of WSU Extension
Service, trained volunteers help protect the environment
of Island County & Puget Sound through education
& public awareness. Activities include the
Admiralty Head Lighthouse Interpretive Center,
beach monitoring & assessment and community
presentations & seminars.
Orca
Network - Whidbey-based organization which
informs people about the grace and capabilities
of Orcinus orca, shares scientific knowledge of
the species, and works to protect the whales'
natural habitats.
People
for Puget Sound - A non-profit group working
to protect and restore the health of Puget Sound
and the Northwest Straits through education and
action. Includes the new Puget Sound Partnership
- Governor's Initiative.
Peter
Donaldson - a storyteller and performer of
Salmonpeople and related curriculum.
Puget
Sound Action Team - This partnership defines,
coordinates and implements Washington state's
environmental agenda for Puget Sound.
The
Puget Sound Nearshore Partnership is a large-scale
initiative that affords a unique opportunity to
tackle some of the foremost habitat restoration
needs.

Strategy for Puget Sound - A collaborative
effort to coordinate salmon recovery efforts around
Puget Sound.

Stewards - Island County shoreline property
owners and residents of communities with shared
beach access who voluntarily follow 10 guidelines
to help create and preserve a healthy shoreline
environment for fish, wildlife and birds.

wild salmon, trout and other native fish species.
